The relation between God and man
John 1st 14th

"And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us and we beheld his glory the glory as of the only begotten of the Father full of grace and Truth".John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Flesh hath various meanings in the scripture It signifies species in Gen. 7th "They went in two and two of all flesh"Gen 7:15 And they went in unto Noah into the ark, two and two of all flesh, wherein is the breath of life. Again it signifies kindred in Gen 37 "Let not our hand be upon our own flesh"Gen 37:27 Come, and let us sell him to the Ishmeelites, and let not our hand be upon him; for he is our brother and our flesh. And his brethren were content.

(Sin) Again it signifies the very opposite of God in Jer 17th "Cursed be the man that maketh flesh his arm"Jer 17:5 ¶Thus saith the Lord; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the Lord. So in Romans 7Editorial Note: This is actually Romans 8:8. th "They that are in the flesh cannot please God"Rom 8:8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. Sin

In John 6.55Editorial Note: This appears to actually be a reference to Ezek 11:19 or Ezek 36:26, instead of to John 6:55. it denotes a tender tractable disposition A heart of flesh instead of a heart of stoneEzek 11:19 And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh: Ezek 36:26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. In Mark 14 it denotes weakness The Spirit is willing but the flesh is weakMark 14:38 Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak.

(Opposites) to Spirit

In Luke 24th it points out the great disparity between Spirit and flesh saying -- "Spirit hath not flesh and bones as ye see me have"Luke 24:39 Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.

John 6th "The Spirit quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing"John 6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

Romans 3rd There shall no flesh be justified in His sightRom 3:20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

Gal.5th The flesh lusteth against the Spirit and the Spirit against the fleshGal 5:17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

Romans 7.5. For when we were in the flesh the motions (in Greek it was passions) of sin did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto deathRom 7:5 For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death.
