7. Leader

All called in. Mrs E spoke of the proposition to place form of woman in Mother Church. She said

"I want you all to bear me witness that I will have no form nor figure of woman in the Mother Church.Editorial Note: A statue of a woman in prayer had been commissioned and was ready to be placed on a pedestal above the organ pipes in The Mother Church Extension, but Eddy did not permit it to be done. A year ago when it was proposed to erect a statue in the lot I said they might place the statueAs Written:satute of an upward soaring eagle but no statue of woman." (Mrs Eddy then said) "He who dematerializes self frees himself from sin sickness and all discord. In so far as one personalizes thought he limits his spiritual growth." (Mrs Eddy continued)

"We grow in understanding and if I have ever permitted any personality I have grown beyond it."
