Beloved Leader and Teacher:-
The Directors and Mr. Farlow have consulted together on the question of notifying the members of the Church, through the Sentinel, to discontinue their subscriptionsEditorial Note: McClure's Magazine published a series of articles, beginning with an introductory piece in December 1906, about Mary Baker Eddy and Christian Science, containing many inaccuracies and false statements. The Literary Digest favorably publicized the series. to McClure's Magazine and to the Literary Digest, and after careful consideration Mr. Farlow stated that in his opinion it would not be the best thing to do as it might appear to the public to be a boycott of these magazines, and also many others which have advertised McClure's article, and in that way might secure public sympathy for McClure's.
The Directors are inclined to concur in Mr. Farlow's opinion on account of the advertisement appearing in other magazines.
Mr. Farlow hinted to the Directors that he could effect the purpose as named above in a manner that would not involve anyone.
I agree with Mr. Farlow and with you that some other means would be better
Lovingly Mary B. G. Eddy
