My dearest sweetest best Benny,

You were right I meant the picture you named to me. I saw through it when alone. So this silly scheme is done, singed its own wings. Now dear I have nothing new to write. It is just struggle, work, pray, all the time. But Oh! how much we have to be thankful for midst all this pain, and suffering nameless, (and unfit to be named) ― since God has told us that all this shall work together for good to them that love GoodRom 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. . This is my only comfort that I do know I love Good, and have done much to bring this great this infinite blessing to others.

So let me be patient trust the Love that knoweth best, and hope that I can at last overcome the world, the flesh and all evil. But this is something to do, or seemeth so to those who try it. Mrs Dillingham sent me yesterday some very nice maple sugar and I gave the folks here just one piece and put the rest in your desk drawer for my only child when he comes back to me. Dear me, how frail is our fortitude to annihilate the claims of personality! What a poor demonstrator of this. am I. To resolve and re-resolve and then go on the same.

Cannot Love better than the rod of Love wean us from all flesh and help us to love only the unseen untouched immaterialized person, the divine not human.

Give much love to ― what? ― to Benny,
from Mother
