It has become my painful duty, as I distinctly understand, to send to you this message in obedience to the Divine command. To my spiritual sense, as when writing Science And HealthEditorial Note: Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, this message came with imperative command. "Tell Dr. Foster Eddy to leave BostonEditorial Note: Boston, Massachusetts. immediately and to remain away and find for himself another locality and form of work".

I add this from myself viz. That for your own salvation you will obey this clear command of God; and will adhere as a gentleman to the By-law As Written: Bylaw of The First Church of Christ Scientist in Boston, which provides for such a necessity, and leave Boston immediately
