Apparently, he wanted a copy of the third edition of Science and Health. Eddy had been working on this edition and it was published on August 17, 1881. in its new Years dress was "good enough for meEditorial Note: This phrase is from a gospel song titled “Old-Time Religion,” dating from c. 1873." and when the new editionEditorial Note: The third edition of Mary Baker Eddy’s book, Science and Health. It was published on August 17, 1881. is issued you shall have one, be sure.

I shall copy form, did you design it? or have you a copyright of covers? All we get is characteristic of youEditorial Note: James Ackland was a printer by trade. Mary Baker Eddy and Asa Gilbert Eddy had been having him print cards containing Mary Baker Eddy’s spiritual interpretation of the Lord’s Prayer and had just submitted an order for 100 copies of her manuscript, “Private Directions for Metaphysical Healing.” (See A11359 for this manuscript, and L16170 for Asa Gilbert Eddy’s letter to Ackland, giving the order for the copies.).
