Yours receivedAs Written:rec'd. I am sorry I wrote so abruptly. You are not and were not frightened I meant only one simple instance. Do you remember you promised me that you would not take the Dr to board anymoreAs Written:any more. It seems I was directed to gain that promise so as to save him from being made subject to the machinations now used to break up the household at 385 Com. Ave. I did not know why I requested this when I named it to you but I do see it now. It is all right now for the Dr returned As Written: retured when I wrote to him and I hope we shall break the plot of the adversaryAs Written:adersary. Now, again I ask, do not be deceived by the enemy, I want to have the Dr. hold that house and occupy it so that Mrs. Otterson who pays me a good price for it cannot be driven out of it, but have a peaceful stopping place when she goes to attend the Quarterly church meetings. This is her right, and a small pay for the rent she pays. But the last time she was in BostonEditorial Note: Boston, Massachusetts she stopped over at the Hotel! This grieved me. I hope and think that the Dr. will not go away again and shut up the house without letting me know it. Such things may cause Mrs. O. to give up her rent, and I have nobody to look after these troublesomeAs Written:trouble some things for me, and I ought not to have them to care for. My dear God knows this if none else does.

Now put it all out of your mind only to remember my requestAs Written:requst – Your face, when I saw you, showed as mine does a weariness or care — that I want you to rise above. So I gave you the argument. Your forgetfulness is not strange with so much as you have to attend to. God loves you for your fidelity to Him and so do I.
