My beloved Son:

I am not infringing the Divine by my address since I have more than one son and daughter. The extracts from your lectureEditorial Note: Tomlinson gave the first Christian Science lecture in New England at The Mother Church on September 28, 1898. are adapted to the public, commend themselves to thinkers, satisfy the hungry, silence the critic I have a large field of labor for you, as lecturer it is LondonEditorial Note: London, England and so forth – tell this not at present even to enquirers For this end you were saved from being a TrusteeEditorial Note: Trustee of The Christian Science Publishing Society. God guideth me by His own eyePs 32:8 I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye. .

What a stroke was laid at the root of errorMatt 3:10 And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. the day that I called you here last! And I knew not what was to occur. Faithful John Tomkins has been – hence the hate. He is a good fighter. The warning has saved you or rather God hath done it. Now dear I warn you again beware of wolves clad in sheep skinsMatt 7:15 ¶Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. or rather a wolf that is beginning As Written: begining to work outside of the skin and snap her teeth at her benefactor. I enclose some extracts from Mrs. King's lecture at St. LouisEditorial Note: St Louis, Missouri After reading them show them to Rev. McKenzie and to Judge H. but do not say who sent them to you. Then please return them For months I have been sorely pressed over this serpentine coil growing tighter around our causeEditorial Note: The cause of Christian Science.. Oh for a respiteAs Written:respit! God give me patience and more love. I love poor Stetson and have rebuked her more severely than almost any other student and still am trying to save her
