My dear Student,

My own trials and cares prevented Mr Frye from giving me your letter until now.

The case is nothing alarming but it was a latent belief He told me out of the class that there was a time when he had "fallen" I never asked a word – I never have any confidences with my gentlemen students- perhaps you may know what he referred As Written: refered to His mind was not right when I gave him the first lesson.
