We enclose circular and advertisements from some person or persons who claim to have from you special permission to publish the extract from your writings as there given. Already we are receiving many inquiries regarding this publication, and as it has been customary for you to give public notice through the periodicals regarding any publication which you endorse, we find ourselves unable to answer these inquiries with any assurance that the permission from you which is claimed, was really granted. If it seems well for you to guide us as to the answer which should be made to these inquiries we should be very grateful.

⇉ Handshift:Mary Baker EddyBeloved: I have no recollection of giving permission to the Thinkright BureauEditorial Note: In July 1907 the Thinkright Bureau of Portland, Maine, claimed to have Mary Baker Eddy's written permission to publish an extract from her writings for their special Christian Science motto card. Mounted on a 9.25 by 7.25 inch beveled marble Strathmore mat, the card would be limited to 1000 copies, sold for 50 cents, and impressed from a copper engraved plate with the lettering in Ecclesiastical text and printed in three colors. Eddy informed The Board of Trustees of The Christian Science Publishing Society that no such permission had been given. to publish quotations from my copyrighted books I have always thought that detached sentences can be made injurious to the real meaning of my writings – I think so now.
