My dear Student,

As chairman of the Publishing CommitteeAs Written:Com., or some other name to me unknown, but meaning that you supervise (in connection with others) the matter admitted into the C. S. Jour. — I write in an hour of feebleness when nothing of this should be made to trouble me a final word on a "Memorial Church"Editorial Note: This is a reference to an article titled “Memorial Church” on pages 293-294 in the October 1890 issue of The Christian Science Journal.. Letters have come to me speaking of contributing to this object in memory of me as the discoverer and founder of Christian Science.

Now Jesus would not be made king over Jew or Gentile, and his disciples would not coerce him into it. I also refuse to have this begging, money scheme, for such it is – put on to my shoulders. I have written a CardEditorial Note: See “To Christian Scientists” on page 335 of the November 1890 issue of The Christian Science Journal. for the Journal and sent it to Mr. Nixon for publication and it must be published, and no change made in it Any longer I refuse to be put in or put out of that Journal just as he sees fit. and Bailey is never to be found The ad. that I sent for publication in the Jour when I made a gift of the building lot, was garbled and delayed in publishing. Then he bid me write another article but I did not think best to do it

Now I must ask one favor more of those to whom I gave the Journal! and of you as chairman of CommitteeAs Written:Com. Will you give me an assurance, promise me in a letter, that my name shall not go in to the C. S. Journal as authority for or as influencing in any way the getting of funds for a Church building in BostonEditorial Note: Boston, Massachusetts or for any other scheme; or as authority for any other action of others relative to the Cause of Christian Science. Or, for authority as supporting other peoples views on Ani Mag, Or for pro. or con. views on the action of factions etc without giving me opportunity to read it and decide as to whether it shall or not be published?

My son is in VermontAs Written:Vt now or he would have written this for me and much stronger than I have.

The enemy is bound to pull down the Journal by making disputations between me and its managers. Remember this If I am not respected in what I ask at their hands it will deprive my students of my counsel coming to them through this medium which they value

With much love to Mrs. B- I am Yours in Christ
M B G Eddy

P. S. The more I do for this Church the more I am afflicted by it. I shall withdraw in every way from helping Church or Journal if this is not stopped Common humanity, much more Christian Science demands this M B G E

I am put between these two stones, by M. A. M.The Journal & Church – by which they mean to crush my life out

Keep from everyoneAs Written:every one what I say of the enemies purpose but tell it as your own sense if you see it after what I write as you must.
