My beloved students

Your kindness and common sense is rare in our ranks but is inseparable from Christian Science. Yes indeed, I recognized my old, new, house in Concord! and admired it. But it is too late, the bargain is made and agreement signed with parties here. I must not look back. Remember Mrs. LotGen 19:26 ¶But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt. of legendary fame. I like your idea of, or for, fixing my house in Boston. How much will it cost? The garden I do not care to have why? Because God has shown me that a garden is a temptation It takes too much time to tend it. The garden of God, is not matter but Mind and our care should be to produce more of this fruit that is not forbiddenGen 2:16 And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: Gen 2:17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. Please do not name an elevator for my house. I want a pretty little stairway running up from the room upon the floor above my chamber where I could go up so easily. This little storeroomAs Written:store room can be fixed handsomely by the carpenter so a portiere As Written: portier could be hung at the entrance if thought best

Now I am always saying the unexpected, which is a cross for me and trying no doubt, to others. But God's ways are not as oursIsa 55:8 ¶For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. Isa 55:9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. . I do not approve of having the children send me flowers every week and am not willing to have them pay for changes on my house in Boston. I paid for that in the first instance and prefer to hold it thus. Your grand offerings to me are already all that a poet could ask or a saint merit, and dear ones, we are keepers of the CommandmentsEx 20:3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Ex 20:4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Ex 20:5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; Ex 20:6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments. Ex 20:7 Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain. Ex 20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Ex 20:9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: Ex 20:10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: Ex 20:11 For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it. Ex 20:12 ¶Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee. Ex 20:13 Thou shalt not kill. Ex 20:14 Thou shalt not commit adultery. Ex 20:15 Thou shalt not steal. Ex 20:16 Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour. Ex 20:17 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour’s. . If the children are taught to love me, out of my teachings, tell them that is all mother wants to prove their fidelity and to encourage their efforts in other ways for our CauseEditorial Note: The Cause of Christian Science. There is too much of Catholicism (Roman I mean) in this personal devotion, hence my desire that they give gifts to God – not to me. The model in colors of my prettier house, is very fine in its adjustment and proportions; vastly beyond what I had felt I could spare time to have done. But the street eastward I have petitioned As Written: petioned the city to straighten and lower so as to produce the effect you named. But they say the water pipes would have to be changed moved and so object You are right keep it from all ears till necessary for the denouement As Written: denoument in BostonEditorial Note: Boston, Massachusetts.

I cannot tell you how much I thank you. Please send me the price – I can pay it and had better use my money than let others do it

With love Your Israelitish mother
