Archival Note: The date on this letter was originally recorded as 1880, as the last digit of the date appears to be a zero. However, based on research, Stuart and Straw did not take class with Eddy until 1881. Also, related document, L10639Click link to view L10639 document in new window, is from 1881, along with another very similar item in the Subject File. Since this document appears to be copied, it is also more likely that a pen slip would have led to a digit that looked more like a zero than a one.
