My beloved Teacher

I received a letter from a friend who wished me to write to you and ask if you expect to teach a class in April, what time it would commence, and whether it would be a PrimaryEditorial Note: Mary Baker Eddy taught a Primary class in Christian Science starting on May 2, 1887. or Normal.

The Lady I refer to is a member of our AssociationNational Christian Scientist Association
Formed on January 29, 1886, the National Christian Scientist Association included students of Christian Science who were taught by Mary Baker Eddy and students of teachers who passed the Normal course in the Massachusetts Metaphysical College. The Association held its first general convention in February 1886 and held annual meetings through 1890. It adjourned for three years at Eddy's request and then reconvened in September 1893 in Chicago at the Parliament of World Religions that was part of the Columbian Exposition (World's Fair).
has been studying, and demonstrating for two and one half years frequently healing in one treatment. Last year she took a course with Dr Sawyer. She would have gone to you but then did not have the money.

I know you would love her she is such an earnest seeker after Truth and of the best moral character. I am so anxious to have her study with you. It will be a joy to you to hear her explain how she took "Science & Health" and healed herself of beliefs of thirty years standing and gave up the old Theology for this blessed Truth and then went to work helping others. If you opened a class soon after the National AssociationNational Christian Scientist Association

meeting she thought she could go with me so as not to travel alone and then wait till class convened. I would like to know if you expect to preach on Easter SundayEditorial Note: Easter Sunday was April 10, 1887. We do not have evidence that Mary Baker Eddy preached that Sunday. for if so I would like to be present. I am hungering to hear a real Christian Science sermon. If not too much trouble will you please answer at once. We all join in love to our dear Teacher

Your loving student
