You will do better by this copy than you did by my lastEditorial Note: Gorham was assistant editor and literary advisor for Mary Baker Eddy's Miscellaneous Writings, 1883-1896.. Where I leave my meaning obscure, or drop the thread of my argument, (and if I had time to reread it should see it at a glanceAs Written:clance,) I want you now to do your best at correcting it, but never to lose my meaning. I have not time to examine the manuscript and answer your questions properly on quotation, not in full, from YoungEditorial Note: Edward Young (1683-1765) was an English poet, dramatist, and literary critic. He is best known for Night-Thoughts, a series of philosophical writings in blank verse, reflecting his state of mind following several bereavements. I can never prepare my manuscript on Christian Science for print, when I am composing it. Many years ago I wrote for leading magazines three years without consulting a dictionary on the definition of words, or orthography, and the editors never corrected my manuscript on either. But now the English language, or any other language, and especially the spelling [*]Gap: letter.Reason: faded.f words go and come with the occasion.
After my discovery of Christian Science, the rules of grammarAs Written:grammer, and my knowledge of other school books that before were as familiar to me as my alphabet, mostly disappeared from memory in a manner that I never could account for; but leave it, knowing as I do, that all my seeming loss was gain.
