My dear Alice,

I have wanted to write you sooner and beg you will not feel neglected for I should have done so if I had had the chance etc I am looking forward to work now No play no pastime for me

The first of Sept our College opens and I have no prospect of getting away before that cause why

Hope you are happy and will always have life as agreeably as now and much more so

This letter will not spoil you will it I think you are not so easily spoiled as you—supposed

Lovingly ever
M. B. G. E.

I want to see you but cannot now
