My dear Alice,

What lovely weather for Christmas week! and what a persevering little lady you are, and what a good time we will have, and what prospect is there for a blaze!

If you can come here to see me on Friday and pass the day and night I should enjoy it but do not come unless it is perfectly convenient for you I should have had you before but every day I have been away or had business that kept me hoping

Ever yours
