My Dear Brother.

I was obliged to go away this morning though I wanted to see you very much. Therefore I do the next best thing write. Now my dear brother why can we not follow Mothers direction in editing the Journal? It is extremely painful, and the results are terrible to some. Now I know you do not want this to be, neither do I. I would rather never see another issue of the Journal than to see such effects. I am very sorry I did not see all the proof of the May NumberAs Written:No and yet I do not know as it would have made any difference for I do not know as I am capable of doing the right thing with it. Now Mother says there must be no mention of animal magnetism in the next three Journals, and that the next Journal must contain nothing of her personality. She is so imbodied from beginning to end in the May NumberAs Written:No. that it is very insulting to her delicate shrinking womanly nature. After her many and often repeated requests and warnings on these points, and with both of us to watch them they continue as bad or worse than ever. Now my dear brother these things must not continue or they will bring destruction. You little realize the result of this action.

Then again it is frightful the way you give the thing away. You put weapons into the hands of the enemy that mother has never dared to do in all her life. Now my dear brother for Mothers sake and the causeEditorial Note: The cause of Christian Science. wont you please follow more closely her direction in the makeupAs Written:make up of future Journals! It must be done. There are several more of those same mistakes in the cards of which I have spoken before and one that has now appeared the third time (Ballinger) The Journal needs much closer watching.

Affectionately yours
E. J. F. Eddy
