My dear Student

When last I wroteEditorial Note: See L13529. you I had a moment only in which to indite a few words. Your suggestion to return to meEditorial Note: Although a letter to this effect is not extant, when Tomlinson first began working in Eddy's household he found it challenging and was periodically dismissed and later asked to return at Eddy's request. seemed nothing but a lack of faith in what I had before tenderly and honestly as usual explained to me and you agreed with me afterwards and said so Now the tempter turns you back to your old temptation to doubt either the honesty or the spiritual understanding of her whom God has made the way-shower!

You promised me solemnly not to do what you now are doing If I should have you return to me I should disobey God for I know what He teaches me and you do not know it and even disbelieve it when I tell you honestly and lovingly for your best interest just what God tells me I know when you talk to me mentally and know what you say Now answer me and tell me if you will do as you promised with yourself
