AGREEMENT.

I hereby agree with the owner of the Christian Science Journal, Mary Baker G. Eddy, That I will not publish any articles in twelve As Written: twelwe months, in said Journal, in which personal reference to her shall form the substance of said articles.

I agree also to publish no article on Animal Magnetism in said Journal. oftener than once in two months except with Mrs. Eddy consent

I also agree that any article written by her, and sent for publication in the Christian Science Journal, shall be published in the next issue of the Journal after the receipt of said article, and shall be changed in no respect whatever except it be to correct a grammatical error without changing the meaning.

I further agree that my contributions to said Journal shall speak in moderate terms of Mrs. Eddy, and that I will conform all articles that refer to her to this rule of expression. That I will avoid any seeming deification of her, that I will declare Christian Science, and let that, and not myself declare her. That I will edit this Journal with this purpose in view that God, and not man, Truth and not error, Principle and not person shall reveal Mrs. Eddy to this age.

Also I hereby declare that Mrs. Eddy has paid me in full for all services up to this date, and that she has no personal responsibility in any way or form involved in the arrangement for the headquarters of the Christian Science Journal, and for the expense of editing and publishing said Journal, or for any arrangement involved therewith. Also I agree that Mrs. Eddy's credit is not to be used in any way for anythingAs Written:any thing or that she shall be held responsible for any further payments to me for my services in connection with said Journal.

And I hereby agree that in case of any failure on my part to fulfill the As Written: tha above agreement, I shall immediately forfeit my position as Editor of said Journal, and that I will pay to the said Mary Baker G. Eddy the sum of $5000 Five thousand dollarsEditorial Note: 5000.00.
