Now about becoming a pupil. I would like so much to do so if I could The lady that called with me can not attend to it at present owing to her present pecuniary affairs, and suppose you would not feel willing to take me at the price you spoke of providing we both studied, at $150.Editorial Note: $150.00 in 1884 is the equivalent of $4,153.34 in 2017. a piece. I am a widow As Written: widdow with little money therefore cannot do as I would. I am much interested but I fear I could not comprehend the great truths so I could make it effectual. I am trying to use my influence in that direction but as I do not understand it well enough I do not make many converts. Will you please write me what you think about it, what you can afford to do &c. [if favorable] when you think would be the best time to commence.

In the August numberEditorial Note: "Letters from the People," The Christian Science Journal, August 1883. I read in a letter from a lady to her brotherEditorial Note: This author of this letter, identified as “M. W. M.,” was probably Mary W. Munroe, who was a member of Mary Baker Eddy’s class that began on January 22, 1883., this. “To all who gain the Spirit of Divine Science in the study and practice of it, Christ is revealed as already come &c.”Editorial Note: This sentence reads in the original article as follows: “To all who gain the spirit of Divine Science in the study and practice of it, Christ is revealed to their spiritual understanding as already come ‘the second time’ and ‘without sin unto salvation.’” Am I to understand that He never will come [the second time in person as His Word says. “ Every eye shall see HimRev 1:7 Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen. &c. I think I do not just understand it clearly Please excuse my seeming dullness As Written: dulness. I hope to see clearly and know more some time
