Your highly improper language and false statements regarding my obligations are but comments on the frailty of manhood. When my young student repeated them to me he wept over such an abuse of me, but I was not even surprised knowing how you are infuriated by the silent arguments of those lying in waitEditorial Note: This is a reference to “mental malpractitioners.” to fulfill their threats to ruin my reputation and stop my labors for the uplifting of the race. I have proof that I told your wife I should not take her case to doctor, but after her ceaseless importunities I consented to teach her my system of healing. I have but one reply to every one and that, is found in my published works, viz. That I teach and leave my students to do their own healing. My reputation as a teacher is established by the success of my students who are in practice and their confessions such as your wife made in my class of perfect satisfaction with my teachings I have more than I can do and am engaged for a lecture tour that I promised last winter to make, but if your wife will visit me as often as is requisite, I will do more than I promised her, namely, assist her to be a well woman. The last time I saw her I went on purpose to give her advice regarding her health then sent one of the committee of relief from the C.S. Association to assist her recovery and that lady [ [?] Unclear or illegible  ] she was better, after I was there, and was doing well. But from appearances since there they must have used the time on committee business to lie about me and conspire against me that however is of no importance
