was the daughter of Sarah J. Achorn, who became interested in Christian Science in 1884
when she received Christian Science treatment through prayer from Mary A. Poole, a
student of Mary Baker Eddy's. Sarah wrote to Eddy in 1886, asking for information about
Christian Science treatment through prayer for her daughter.
