H. Lucina Ambrose (1836-1924) was born in Deerfield, New Hampshire, and died in Manchester, New Hampshire. She was the daughter of Mary Baker Eddy's first cousin, Nathaniel Ambrose (1811-1878). H. Lucina Ambrose worked as a teacher in Lawrence, Massachusetts, teaching at the Amesbury Street primary and middle schools. In the late 1880s and early 1890s, she served as secretary of the Loyal Women of American Liberty (1888). This was an organization with a membership restricted to Protestant women, advocating for the complete separation of church and state and for legislation limiting immigration in the United States.
