Anna L. Bailey (1858-1941) was born in New Haven, Connecticut, and died
in Burlington, Vermont. By 1875 she was living with her family in Brooklyn, New York,
where her father, Edward Bailey, worked as a grain broker. In 1887 he wrote to Mary
Baker Eddy seeking a reference to a Christian Scientist in their area who could provide
metaphysical treatment for Anna. After her father's death in 1894, Anna lived with her
mother in New Haven, where she remained until at least 1921. Sometime thereafter she
relocated to Burlington.
