Edward A. Bailey (1853-1933) was born in Greene, Maine, and died in Concord, New Hampshire. He was a student of Mary Baker Eddy's, completing Primary (1885) and Normal (1886) classes. In October 1885 he joined the Christian Scientist Association and the Church of Christ (Scientist). Bailey was active in the Christian Science movement until February 1889, when he withdrew from both the Association and Church. After leaving the movement, he maintained a healing practice in Boston until about 1900, when he returned to his previous occupation of carpenter.
