Ezra Baker (1818-1893) was a lifelong resident of Lynn, Massachusetts. He
was a shoe manufacturer for many years until 1868, when he founded Ezra Baker & Son,
a real estate and fire insurance business. In late 1885, Baker acted as realtor when
Mary Baker Eddy tried to sell her home at 8 Broad Street, Lynn. That sale was
unsuccessful and Eddy later sold her home in December 1886. After his passing, Baker's
real estate business was merged into the company of Silsbee, Baker & Geer.
