Libbie Beyer (1848-1886) was born in Wingerode, Germany, and died in
            Oconto, Wisconsin. Beyer, a school teacher living in Oconto, received Christian Science
            treatment through prayer from Fannie M. Silsbee, a student of Mary Baker Eddy's. After
            her treatment, she was determined to study Christian Science, subsequently taking
            Primary class instruction with Eddy in May 1884. After studying with Eddy, she
            maintained a healing practice in Oconto and was a charter member of the Oconto Christian
            Scientist Association. There is no record of her joining the Christian Scientist
            Association or uniting with the Church of Christ (Scientist).
