Sarah F. Bickford (1832-1907) was born in Wolfeborough (now Wolfeboro), New Hampshire, and died in Chicago, Illinois. She was a student of Mary Baker Eddy's, completing the Primary class (1884), Normal class (1886), and Obstetrics class (1888). She joined the Christian Scientist Association in May 1886, and in December 1892, she joined The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, and was a member until her passing. She was involved in the early growth of Christian Science in Chicago and was a founding member and later a director of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Chicago (1886). In 1886, she was listed in The Christian Science Journal as a Christian Science practitioner and teacher and served in that capacity until 1906.
