Frances C. "Kitty" Bird (b. McCullough) (1842-1916) was born in Princeton, Indiana, and died in Keokuk, Iowa. In 1880 she married Jacob F. Bird in Keokuk. She was his third wife, his first two wives having passed away, and they settled in Owensville, Indiana. Bird's husband was a schoolteacher and also the owner of a general store in Owensville. He became the first school superintendent of Gibson County, Indiana, and in 1867 he had served in the Indiana state legislature. In 1887 Bird wrote to Mary Baker Eddy from the home of her sister, Elizabeth "Lizzie" Fletcher (b. McCullough), in Keokuk, to acknowledge receipt of an issue of The Christian Science Journal and to order the pamphlet Historical Sketch of Metaphysical Healing. After her husband's death in 1915, Bird went to stay with her niece in Keokuk and passed away there the following year.
