Edith Booth (b. Martin) (1837-1914) was born in Green City, Kentucky, and died in Maquon, Illinois. In 1869 she became the second wife of Jacob Booth, marrying him in Knox City, Illinois. He was a wagonmaker and a farmer. Edith wrote to Mary Baker Eddy twice in 1887 to order Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures in bulk quantities. Both Booths studied Christian Science with Eddy's student Janet T. Colman and were members of a Christian Science branch church in Maquon. They both joined The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, on June 30, 1894.
