Noble J. Braden (1834-1890) was born in Gustavus Township, Trumble County, Ohio, and died in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Western Reserve College in Cleveland, Ohio. In 1858, he married Caroline C. Braden (b. Cowden) and they moved to Pittsburgh in 1859. Braden worked as a commission merchant, selling cheese and butter from factories in New York and Ohio. In 1886, he wrote to Mary Baker Eddy to order a copy of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures.
