Fidelia S. Brown (b. Stanley) (1840-1907) was born in Naperville, Illinois, and died in Aurora, Illinois. In 1862 she married Albert M. Brown in DuPage County, Illinois. He was a Civil War veteran who served as a corporal in Company C of the 7th Regiment of the Illinois Infantry. After the war he worked as a laborer and then went into business as A. M. Brown, dealer in boots, shoes, and rubber goods. Brown first studied Christian Science with Anna "Annie" R. Hessler of Chicago, Illinois, and later studied with Adelia P. Hanson, a student of Mary Baker Eddy. Brown and her husband both joined The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, on July 6, 1895, and both were listed as practitioners in The Christian Science Journal from 1897 until their respective passings. Brown's husband also served as First Reader in the First Church of Christ, Scientist, Aurora.
