George H. Buck (1835-1905) was born in Guilford, New York, and died in Binghamton, New York. He married Mary E. Buck (b. Putnam) in Afton, New York, in 1863. In the late 1860s and early 1870s they lived in Sharon, Connecticut, where Buck was engaged in the mercantile business, moving to Binghamton around 1875. There he opened and operated a grocery store for over 30 years. In 1887 Buck wrote to Mary Baker Eddy to order a copy of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures.
