William T. Burgess (1816-1895) was born in Niagara (now Niagara Falls),
Ontario, Canada, and died in Chicago, Illinois. He studied law in Buffalo, New York,
before moving to Chicago in the early 1850s and working as a lawyer. He first married
Orphelia R. Crosby in 1843 and later married Margaret C. Davis, a student of Mary Baker
Eddy's, in Illinois in 1867. Although Margaret was involved with Christian Science, we
have found no further information concerning his involvement based on the records
available.
