Julia M. Burnham (c.1855-1923) was born in New York and died in Pasadena,
California. For many years Burnham lived in Clinton, Iowa, where she worked as a school
teacher. She became interested in Christian Science in 1884 and first studied with A. A.
Reed, a student of Bradford Sherman's. Burnham later took Primary class (1885) with Mary
Baker Eddy and joined the Christian Scientist Association on October 7, 1885. In June
1894, she joined The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts. She was listed as a
Christian Science practitioner and teacher in the directory of
The
Christian Science Journal and served until her passing.
