May P. Cameron (b. Phoenix) (1858-1939) was born in Bloomington, Illinois, and died in Chicago, Illinois. Cameron attended Illinois Normal University and was a concert and choir soloist. She married John H. Cameron, a banker, in Delavan, Wisconsin, in 1884. The Camerons studied Christian Science with Edward A. Kimball, a student of Mary Baker Eddy, and were members of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Chicago, Illinois; they both sang at the church's dedication in 1887, and John served as First Reader in 1901 and 1902. They joined The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, on July 3, 1897. Cameron also sang at the dedications of Second Church of Christ, Scientist, Chicago, Illinois, and Third Church of Christ, Scientist, Chicago, Illinois, in 1901. Cameron was listed in the directory of The Christian Science Journal as a Christian Science practitioner in Chicago from 1912 until her death.
