Alice M. Caton (b. Davis) (1819-1889) was born in Oneida, New York, and died in Cambria Center, New York. In 1840 she married James F. Sherman, a farmer, and they lived in Wilson, New York. He died in 1857, and in 1858 she married Daniel R. Caton, also a farmer in Wilson. In 1887 Mary Baker Eddy's student Mary E. Southworth, who was living and practicing Christian Science in nearby Lockport, New York, ordered a copy of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures to be sent to Caton in care of her son-in-law, Frank M. Taylor.
