Mary E. Chapman (1849-1926) was born in Dracut, Massachusetts, and died in Stoughton, Massachusetts. She was married to George F. Chapman, who wrote to Mary Baker Eddy in early 1885. The Chapmans were unable to agree on terms with Eddy for Mary E. Chapman to study with Eddy, and later on in 1885, the couple studied with Luther M. Marston, a student of Mary Baker Eddy's.
