Warren Choate

Warren Choate (1876-1944) was born in Salem, Massachusetts, and died in Boston, Massachusetts. He was the son of Mary Baker Eddy's students, George D. and Clara E. Choate. Eddy was very fond of him and healed him of a fever. When she considered having a Sunday School in conjunction with Sunday services in 1880, she invited him to be the first student. He married Lucy E.C. Hardy on December 31, 1899, in Providence, Rhode Island. They later divorced and Lucy became a follower of the Christian Science Parent Church of the New Generation--a breakaway church founded by Annie Bill--hosting the first services in her home at 37 Commonwealth Avenue in Boston. Throughout his life, Warren held different jobs, including those of chauffeur and janitor.
