Abby Colburn (b. Rice) (1833-1890) was born in Richmond, New Hampshire, and died in Brattleboro, Vermont. In 1854, she married Charles O. Colburn in Marlborough, New Hampshire. He was a veteran of the American Civil War, serving in Company F. of the 14th New Hampshire regiment. The couple moved to Brattleboro in 1872, where Charles worked for the Estey Organ Company. In 1886, Colburn wrote to Mary Baker Eddy to order a copy of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures and some pamphlets.
