Nellie E. Colby (c.1850-1926) was born in Massachusetts and died in
Somerville, Massachusetts. At the time she wrote to Mary Baker Eddy, she was living in
Willimantic, Connecticut, and was married to Frank G. Colby, an overseer in a cotton
mill. Despite expressing an interest in Christian Science treatment through prayer,
there is no record of her studying with, or being treated by, Mary Baker Eddy.
