Elizabeth A. Coon (b. Coon) (1833-1920) was born and died in Ridgeway, New York. Sometime between 1850 and 1855 in Ridgeway she married George W. Coon, a farmer who shared the same surname. They moved to Michigan, and by 1880 they were living in Medina, New York. They moved to Des Moines, Iowa, by 1889, and Coon resided there for another 30 years. Coon wrote to Mary Baker Eddy in 1887 with an interest in purchasing copies of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures and The Christian Science Journal. She also wanted to know whether Charles W. Taft, with whom she had received Christian Science treatment through prayer, was a teacher that Eddy endorsed.
