C. H. Cotton (c. 1830-1884) was born in Boston, Massachusetts, and died in Cambridge, Massachusetts. After becoming interested in Christian Science, she published an anonymous piece, "Mental Healing," in the March 10, 1883, edition of the Cambridge Chronicle. In the article she declared Mary Baker Eddy to be the founder of mental healing. There is no record of her studying with Eddy or uniting with the Church.
