Ella W. Crawford (b. Way) (1855-1905) was born in Indiana and died in
Wellsboro, Indiana. She married Robert R. Crawford, a businessman and Civil War Veteran,
in Colorado Springs, Colorado, in 1875. They eventually moved to Indiana and went back
and forth to Spokane, Washington, for Robert's businesses. Crawford studied Christian
Science with Minnie B. Hall De Soto, a student of Mary Baker Eddy, in 1886 before
becoming a student of Eddy herself, completing the Primary class in March 1888. She
joined The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, on July 1, 1893.
She was a member of the Christian Scientist Association and of the General Association
of Teachers. Crawford was listed in the directory of
The Christian
Science Journal as a Christian Science teacher and practitioner in Spokane in
1893 and in Wellsboro from 1894 until her death.
