John B. Crocker (1825-?) was born in England and most likely died in
Illinois. He was a student of Mary Baker Eddy's, studying with her in Chicago in May
1884. Before he studied with Eddy, he and his wife Charlotte were spiritualists,
founding the Spiritual Association in St. Louis, Missouri, in 1882. Crocker renounced
Spiritualism during Eddy's class and afterwards attended meetings with other students
from that class. There is no record of him joining the Church of Christ
(Scientist).
