Elizabeth M. Cross (b. Gage) (1855-1932) was born in Boscawen, New Hampshire, and died in Concord, New Hampshire. She attended Penacook Academy in Penacook, New Hampshire. She married Alvin B. Cross, an investment banker, in 1882, and they moved to Concord. Cross was one of the founders of the Boscawen and Penacook Nursing Association and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, as well as the Concord Woman's Club, of which she served as treasurer. Along with her husband, Cross was originally a member of the South Congregational church of Concord. She studied Christian Science with Ezra M. Buswell, a student of Mary Baker Eddy. She became a trustee and member of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Concord, New Hampshire, and joined The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, on June 7, 1907, remaining a member until her passing. Her younger sister, Mabel C. Gage, was also a member of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Concord.
