Samuel M. Davis (1835-1892) was born in Pennsylvania and died in Oak Park, Illinois. He was a member of the Rock River Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church, which covered Chicago and northern Illinois. He ministered for many years at the Park Avenue Methodist Church in Chicago.
