Josephine E. Dudley (b. Child) (1847-1909) was born in Maine and died in
Bryant Pond, Maine. As a child she lived in Paris, Maine. In 1868 she married Ansel P.
Dudley in Woodstock, Maine, and they settled in Bryant Pond, a village within the town
of Woodstock. He was a stonemason who later became a grocery dealer. Dudley wrote to
Mary Baker Eddy in 1887 to order a copy of Eddy's pamphlet Historical Sketch of
Metaphysical Healing for herself and a subscription to
The Christian
Science Journal to be sent to James Sheeran, the husband of her sister-in-law,
Amanda M. Sheeran (b. Dudley).
