Alexander E. Murray, also known as Viscount Fincastle before becoming the
8th Earl of Dunmore, (1871-1962) was born and died in London, England. He was a

invitation of Eddy in 1901, his parents and two sisters, Lady Victoria A. Murray and
Lady Mildred Murray, took the Normal class taught by Edward A. Kimball in the Board of
Education of The First Church of Christ, Scientist. His family joined The First Church
of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, in June 1898. Murray, upon a special
request made by Eddy to The Christian Science Board of Directors, joined on June 3,
1899, and the family were all made First Members in January 1901 and honorary members in
September 1903. Murray withdrew his membership from The First Church of Christ,
Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, in November 1903. In January 1904 he married
